went to jaisalmer with family for two days. we were waiting for yashu my younger son at ahmedabad,with my wife alka elder son sony daughter sharda and g'son ansh.he came on 22.9.9 from mumbai.nextday morning at 7 am we started for jaisalmer by road. we had hired a innova charges were 7.50/km. we took rout via mehsana,palanpur deesa sanchor, badmer, jaisalmer. at barmer we stopped for lunch, brahman restaurent provided us good lunch. we reached destination by 7.30 pm .about 65 km before jaisalmer we had to take a diverson as there was some disturbances in a village on highway. we had to take extra 30 km .
immidiatly after reaching the city we booked rooms in hotel dhola maru. stay was comfortable we stayed for two days.next day we went to see jaisalmer fort,lake ,other historical places,this was finished by afternoon.took lunch in a italian restaurent. for the evening we had booked tent show at SUM abt.40 km.from city. it included camel ride ,camel cart ride , to sand dunes. on sand dunes little girls with musicians wellcome you ,they entertain u with their dance,songs. than we went to the booked tents,where they wellcome u with wellcome drinks , and entertain u with rajasthani dances ,songs ,and other displays.finally you are served with dinner. if u want u can stay.but we came back to hotel by 11 pm . next day we started back for ahmedabad.
the rates of hotel, tents,etc are very much bargainable. you must compare rates for every thing from 3-4 sources .
itwas memorable trip & it was 2 nd trip for us. but rt.season begins from december .
